My Name is Mia, and this is my Fitness Story

I am known as the girl that walks around with shredded abdominals every day of the year – so you see that I can’t get enough time in the gym. Working out and sports in general brings out the best in me and that is why I make it a priority to exercise every day. When it comes to working out, I don’t believe in doing the exact same workout twice. I am always tweaking a rep count, move combo, or changing up the tempo. Every day presents new opportunities. And that’s why I enjoy challenging myself everyday.

My fitness journey stared with a bad breakup from my ex-boyfriend. I was devastated, and my way of coping with sadness and stress is exercise. Instead of crying at home I decided to go to the gym and start something new. First day in I fell in love with it. I never felt more alive that day. Even though I was so sore the next day that I could barely get up, nothing could stop me from going to the gym that day again.

To me a gym has more meaning than simply a place to work out. The gym is a place where I have the most fun because I love to try new things in every gym session. The feeling you get if you achieve new skills or bust out a new personal record is unforgettable.

But not only that; gym time is the only time where I can shut out all my worries and relax my mind completely and just focus on me, my body, my muscles and the movements. I am sure many of you can relate to the stress we experience daily; being online all the time, pressure eat work, family and getting all the bills payed.

You may ask what is my secret to be motivated to go to the gym on a regular basis? Just make it a habit as you brush your teeth. The only way to form a new habit is to take the action. If it becomes a habit you are not likely to skip it because you will learn to love the feeling after the gym and always chase it.

Now to the good part: How did I come so far and stay in shape year-round?

It shouldn’t be a surprise to you that I was not born with the muscles and definition that I have now. I had to put a lot of effort in building muscles and getting to this level of leanness.

Honestly there is no easy way, magic pill or fast path. It all comes down to consistency, dedication, patience and mental strength. Having a great body is a status symbol, you can not buy it, you have to work for it.

To stay lean nutrition plays a huge role. The most important advice I can give you is that you should never ever think about going on a diet. Because the word “diet” means “restriction” and it means it will have an end. This will lead to the unwanted yo-yo effect. Rather than going on a diet you should make a lifestyle change with your nutrition. Make sure you follow a nutrition plan that you truly enjoy and can stick to your whole life.

I want to thank my sponsor stronger for providing the most beautiful and comfortable active wear and USNfit for the supplements. These two companies had a huge impact in reaching my goals and I am beyond thankful for the support.
