Clearly I’m in love with this new trend.
As seen on the runways of New York Fashion Week thanks to Yeezy’s collection a few years back, these barely there Perspex or Lucite shoes have been seen in collections from Oscar de la Renta to Alexander Wang, Chanel and Prabal Gurung with no indication of it slowing down.
The latest collections are a range of elegant pumps with subtle side panels to single sole heels that create an effect of your feet floating on air. I first fell in love with ankle booties with a lace up effect on the front and back and since then, have added complete ankle boots in black, white and nude to over the knee boots and Cinderella type clear heels to my collection.
I get asked often if they are get hot or sweaty when wearing them but the discreet vent holes placed along the inner sides of the shoes provide enough ventilation to air out your feet keeping them cool and fresh. With a pair of skinny jeans or a little black dress, they are minimalistic yet so versatile and can be worn casually or dressed up for a night out on the town.
Best part is that I also get to show off my latest pretty pedicure as I slip my feet into these barely there heels….a true embodiment of the saying of “less is more” 😉
